Sussex Community NHS Trust is looking for staff to become Care Without Carbon Envoys. It’s an opportunity to embed greener ways of thinking about and delivering healthcare.
What is an Envoy?
The dictionary definition of Envoy is “a messenger or representative, especially one on a diplomatic mission.” And that is what we’re looking for with our Care Without Carbon Envoys; people who can spread the message in a way that others will be willing to hear. Our message is simple, we all need to do things differently to reduce our impact on the environment.
The role is focused on one core thing – building sustainable healthcare into the team agenda of your monthly team meetings. You are supported in doing this each month with a theme and a toolkit that will help you think and talk about that theme with your colleagues.
What if I want to do more?
We’re always open to ideas for projects or suggestions for changes we could help implement. If you have something you would like to make happen to help reduce impact on the environment then we’ll work with you on that, linking in with the QI team to offer project support.
How do I get involved?
Applying to be an Envoy is super easy.
First check with your line manager that they are happy for you to take this on – it can form part of your annual personal development review which is great.
Then email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know you’re interested and we’ll get in touch to confirm it all with you.
