Man on e-bike

At SCFT we currently have nine e-bikes which staff use for work travel as a sustainable alternative to driving. During Travel Smarter September we'd like to see more teams take up the offer of a communal e-bike, and our Travel Bureau has just announced a great incentive.

E-bike use is growing at our Trust

Compared to a car, e-bikes are cheaper to buy and run. Aside from the fact that they don't need insurance, road tax or an MOT they also help to reduce our carbon footprint and improve local air pollution levels.

They make tricky (hilly) routes far easier to manage for all cyclists of any experience or stamina and open up cycling as a way to get out into the community for patient visits.

While the e-bike will take the strain out of your cycle, you are still cycling so get all the wellbeing benefits too.

Travel Bureau support

To encourage more teams to take up an e-bike, the Travel Bureau at SCFT has announced a 50% contribution to the cost of a new e-bike for a team. They are also offering the chance to try an e-bike to make sure it would be a good fit for the team's travel habits.
