Simple ways to help cut carbon

The 75th anniversary of the NHS falls during Net Zero Week across the UK. We all want our NHS to be around for our lifetime and beyond. Why not give the gift of sustainability? Try doing one of these things that are equivalent to 75lbs of carbon:

  • Reduce your car travel by 320 miles this year
  • Switch 5 incandescent bulbs to LED
  • Recycle 5.4 bags of waste, instead of letting them go to landfill
  • Plant 2 trees today – by the 85th birthday you’ll have captured 75lbs of carbon!

There are lots of other ways you can reduce your carbon emissions in your day-to-day life, and through your role at work too.

Check out your Green Plan (you’ll find it on your intranet) for the ways we’re planning to tackle our carbon footprint, and there may be actions you could help support.
