Walk your way to wellness this March…

March is off with a bang as we launch a combined walking push with Walking Works from Living Streets and the Step Up Challenge at the same time!

Make your pledge and get walking...Challenge number 1

Our blog last week announced our participation in Walking Works with Living Streets.

Here’s what’s involved…

There will be weekly challenges to incorporate more walking into your daily work routine and we strongly encourage everyone who can to join in. Together we can stay healthy, happy and active – just by walking a little bit more.

Take a pledge

Before the challenges begin, we encourage you to make a pledge to walk more. Simply head to livingstreets.org.uk/pledge and commit to taking steps to a healthier and happier you. This week’s challenge and the ones that follow will keep you on track to meet that pledge!

Challenge for this week: Hold a Walking Meeting!

Before the challenges begin, we encourage you to make a pledge to walk more. Simply head to livingstreets.org.uk/pledge and commit to taking steps to a healthier and happier you. This week’s challenge and the ones that follow will keep you on track to meet that pledge!

And what’s more, everyone that makes a pledge will be entered into a prize draw with the chance to win one of 2 x Living Streets Goody Bags! (Ts&Cs apply – available on request).

Challenge for this week: Hold a Walking Meeting!

If you’re working from home, a walking phone meeting is far healthier than sitting down all day. Chatting on the phone can also provide a welcome screen break. Give it a go and swap your video call for a good old fashioned phone call!

Even if you’ve already been out for your daily exercise or walked to work, you can still get up and out of your chair for a walking meeting – whether that’s getting your steps in around the garden, your lounge or your hallway, wherever you have the space to pace, you can walk and talk.

We encourage everyone to hold at least one walking meeting this week!

If you’re working on-site, you could head out for a walk with one colleague if you ensure you follow physical distancing guidelines – that means walking two metres apart and wearing a face covering.

And don’t forget the annual Step Up Challenge starts this week too, and all the walks you do with your Walking Works challenges count towards the miles needed to complete your virtual route for Step Up! We have some exciting new routes for you this year with the Bones Route, the Fairytale Route and the big daddy is the Great Frontier Route!
