New Envoy role for a greener NHS at SaSH
11 September 2020
By Hayley Carmichael
Passionate about reducing the impact of healthcare on the environment? You can help us to create a greener NHS at SaSH by becoming a Care Without Carbon Envoy
Open to everyone both clinical and non clinical
Support our work to deliver Care Without Carbon by choosing to be a Care Without Carbon Envoy.
If you have an interest in wellbeing at work and reducing our environmental impact this is the ideal opportunity. It would great to have Envoys in every team and department.
The Envoy programme asks for an initial commitment of 12 months – and beyond that you can stay on as long as you would like to. We’ve structured it so that you choose to become an Envoy at any point, you don’t have to join at the start of the 12 month programme so if now doesn’t feel right but in the future you think you would like to get involved just let us know.
Full support is offered including a kick off conference call to virtually meet other Envoys, one to ones with a Care Without Carbon team member and email updates.
Plus at the end of each 12 months, you’ll get a certificate of recognition for your work at a ‘graduation’ event to say thank you!
Here's what it involves
We’ve kept the role simple to make it easy to fit into your working life.
Essentially you need to become the voice for sustainability in your team, and this includes managing a sustainability agenda item at your monthly team meeting.
We provide you with a monthly topic guide and some supporting tools so you know what to cover each month and the information you need to lead a conversation.
How to get involved
Download the CWC Envoy Role Description SaSH to find out more about the role and how to apply.
Or if you are already interested email firstname.lastname@example.org with your role, line manager’s name and a couple of sentences on why you’d like to be an Envoy. You will need to get your line manager to agree to you becoming an Envoy.
