What's the idea?

Royal Surrey's Green Plan sets out a commitment to reduce carbon emissions to Net Zero Carbon by 2040. The Trust has identified 8 areas of focus in order to achieve this, with one being Estates and Facilities.

The Trust made the decision to invest in solar panels at its Guildford site to increase use of renewable energy, and bring with it cost savings.

An investment grant of £400,000 from the NHS Energy Efficiency Fund enabled the work to proceed, creating a valuable opportunity to reduce emissions over time with several roof areas across the site getting panels to capture solar energy.
