Would you like to support First Community in becoming more sustainable? Our Envoy role could be what you are looking for…
Become a Care Without Carbon Envoy and help protect the environment by changing the way we deliver care.
First Community is determined to reach Net Zero Carbon by 2040. This ambition to reduce its carbon emissions is set out in First Community’s Green Plan. Staff can really support First Community in that by choosing to be a Care Without Carbon Envoy. Why? Because a healthy environment is good for all our health.
Staff who have an interest in reducing the environmental impact of healthcare and improving wellbeing will find this role can support them in delivering the change they want to see.
Full support is offered including a kickoff conference call to virtually meet other Envoys and periodic email updates (not too many as we know how busy in-boxes can get) to keep you informed about what is happening across wider healthcare.
At the end of each 12 months as an Envoy, staff will get a certificate of recognition for their work.
What does the Envoy role involve?
We’ve kept the role simple to make it easy to fit into working life.
Essentially staff who become an Envoy are the voice for sustainability in their team, which involves ensuring that sustainability is an agenda item at monthly team meetings. Envoys are provided with a monthly topic guide and some supporting tools on what to cover each month.
