18 May 2021
By Hayley Carmichael
Clean Air Day is June 17th. This year you can get out in the fresh air and help clean your local beach in Brighton as part of a Coastal Clean Up campaign.
Healthcare Company has organised a beach clean to support Clean Air Day
Fisher & Paykel Healthcare are passionate about measuring and managing their impact on the natural environment. The companies charity of the year is The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare and F&P was one of the first organisations in New Zealand to become a Certified Renewable Energy user, meaning its electricity consumption has zero associated carbon emissions.
The oceans are our biggest carbon sink, therefore keeping them clean is integral to reducing air pollution and protecting future generations against respiratory disease as a result. This has been highlighted, thanks to the hard work of the NHS Ocean group as well as recent documentaries such as Seaspiracy.
The Clean Air Day: Coastal Clean Up event is a fantastic opportunity to meet colleagues outside the workplace and do something good for your local community.
Date – Thursday 17th June 2021
Time – 9:30am to 11:30am beach cleaning, followed by refreshments from a local independent business
